To be honest i use paraffin pressure stoves made by monitor and primus from the 1920s -1950s very often, and a monitor stove from 1953 every week in the brew shed, they are very well made and very reliable, yes they have to be pre heated with meths but they are brilliant!

Best kit on the market, nothing to go wrong. We use one each 95% or the time. They are the perfect stealth burner. We have found over the years of use that a windshield is and absolute necessity for efficient use of the heat generated and fuel efficiency. We reckon on using 5-7 Ml of fuel per 100 Ml of fluid boiled. We don’t carry fuel in the burn chamber but that is just personal preference. Thank you for sharing. Stay well, stay safe. You cant go wrong with any of the Trangia system but my all time favourites are the twig burners from Bush box, Fire box and the good old Kelly kettle, something about wood burners and smoke in the outdoors that bring me nearer to the natural world. Gas stoves have their place but not a fan, am more of a twig burning nutter, love the things.

I’ve had zero issues with the cheap ones and they do have the rubber seal and I’ve carried them filled with fuel many times with no problems.

I have used Trangia stoves since 1978 when I joined the army, the Heximine was crap. I still use a Trangia stove and love the system. My burner is always primed with fuel and provided you put some protrolium jelly on the rubber seal, they will last for years.

Trangia are readily available in most outdoor shops.
Definitely my favourite burner. I have 6 or 7 of them in various cookset styles. There is a slight difference between the military and civilian versions of the burner.
Our Scout group have about 20 Trangia cook sets. Very easy for the young people to use and safer than gas.
The meths burns better if mixed 10 to 1 with water.
